Sand And Blood
A stunning piece of montage cinema, Sand And Blood combines amateur footage gathered from online platforms, with the narration of refugees now living in Austria, to create a visceral and personal account of the recent history of Iraq and Syria. The foregrounding of first hand testimony offers a strikingly intimate perspective on these conflicts revealing the chaotic, complex and all too human story of escalating societal violence as experienced on the ground.
