No Place for Tears
EEFF join forces with Women On Docs to present the European Premiere of NO PLACE FOR TEARS with filmmaker Reyan Tuvi attending and participating in a post-screening Q&A
The Turkish-Kurdish village of Maheser and the Syrian- Kurdish city of Kobane lie a kilometer apart, separated by an invisible border in the sand. As war rages in Kobane between Kurdish and ISIS forces chants of support echo across the desert from Mahaser. Director Reyan Tuvi sensitively and quietly settles in Kobane, in Mahaser, in camps along the border and back to Kobane, capturing moments both dramatic and simple but always significant. People are displaced, fight, reflect, rebuild and persist and as individual and collective identities emerge No Place For Tears communicates a profound perspective on what society comes to mean in the shadow of war.

Filmmaker Reyan Tuvi is expected to attend and participate in a post-screening Q&A.
