Red Carpet Premiere + Q&A with cast and crew

The reality behind the urban myth that is the East End Hardman, My Name Is Lenny charts the extraordinary true story of Lenny McLean, aka The Guv’nor. A story destined for the screen ever since the publication of McLean’s bestselling autobiography nearly 20 years ago, this is a film that has taken a long time to come to fruition. The result is not only an enormously potent portrait of a personal transformation, but one of a bygone era of working-class East London history. Going from an abusive childhood to bareknuckle boxing fame on the streets of Hoxton, Ron Scalpello’s film is ultimately the story of a man conquering his demons to become his people’s champion, and it is the appropriate dramatic followup to last year’s documentary The Guv’nor (EEFF 2016).

A limited amount of free tickets for the unwaged and people of a limited income are available. Please click here to register.
