How far would you go for, and with, family? In this enormously poignant story, Alan, Liya and Jan—raised in Germany but born in Kurdish Iraq—return to their homeland to bury their mother next to her husband, killed while fighting Saddam Hussein’s regime. The trio journey across Kurdistan, pursued by relatives opposed to their plan. Having grown apart over time and with a painful secret hanging over them, however, the siblings’ greatest obstacle may well be one another.
