DRIB

Director: Kristoffer Borgli

Country: Norway, USA

Running Time: 93′

London Premiere

Year: 2017

Follow @dribdribdrib

A thrilling docu-fiction takedown of advertising, consumerism, energy drinks, bodybuilding, body shaming, and limos: DRIB is the perfect encapsulation of comsumo-media nihilism for 2017. Retreading the (alarmingly) true story of Norwegian-Iranian comedian Amir’s hiring by an (unnamed) energy drinks company to take part in an unhinged gonzo marketing campaign, Kristoffer Borgli’s film follows its protagonist on an often farcical work jolly on the company dime, begging questions about the gap between art and consumerism, performance and reality, plant food and real drugs, and the energy drink that is DRIB and…who, exactly?
