A hopeful, moving drama of exile, loss and the power of music, Dana Dana is the debut feature from Hackney-based Iraqi filmmaker Mutana Mohmed. Mohamed (played by Mutana himself) is a refugee who arrives in London having fled his dangerous homeland. Trying to make his way through the economic hardship of London is made even harder by the loss of the love of his life to an arranged marriage back home. An encounter with a busker will put his life into focus, forcing him to make a decision between the things he considers to be one and the same: his life and his art.
