A classic British musical and one the greatest children’s films of all time, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year. Siblings Jeremy and Jemima fall in love with an old, dilapidated racing car, which they name Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Convincing their father, the eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts (a brilliant Dick Van Dyke), to buy it for them, he repairs the machine in his own idiosyncratic way. When they take a trip to the beach one day with their new friend Truly Scrumptious (Sally Ann Howes), Caractacus tells them a story about the villainous Baron Bomburst, and his evil designs on the family car. Travelling to the land of Vulgaria, and an encounter with the evil Child Catcher, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang remains a magical adventure, in a magical car.
Free Family screening, in exchange for a donation of non-perishable food, donated to Tower Hamlets Food Bank.
