Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA) is delighted to be supporting the East End Film Festival again this year.

The Festival has helped many young film-makers in the Lee Valley area and continues to highlight the area’s potential through its work.

Lee Valley Regional Park Authority is responsible for managing and developing the 26 mile long, 1,000 acre Lee Valley Regional Park which serves London, Hertfordshire and Essex. London’s biggest open space, the Park is a unique mix of award-winning sporting venues and leisure facilities, heritage sites, gardens, nature reserves and riverside trails.

The Park Authority is working closely with the organisers of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to ensure this event will live on in the memories of participants, spectators and the people of the UK for generations to come - and to make sure it has lasting permanent benefits for everyone. After the Games the Park will own, manage and fund four venues – the White Water Canoe Centre just north of the M25 between Waltham Abbey and Waltham Cross, plus the VeloPark, hockey and tennis centres on the Olympic Park in Stratford.

The Park Authority is also supporting the East End Film Festival’s Olympic Youth project – a three year skills development programme for young people in the borough, run in conjunction with the Cultural Olympiad and Tower Hamlets London 2012 unit.

Tower Hamlets Council is the lead partner in, and the inspiration behind, the East End Film Festival and has been developing its support for filming and filmmaking through the East End Film Festival and the Tower Hamlets Films Office over the past decade.  Tower Hamlets has a dynamic and creative arts and events department dedicated to delivering high quality cultural events for all residents in the borough to enjoy.

As part of this service the Tower Hamlets has a dedicated films office working to raise the profile of the borough within the filmmaking community and to welcome such fantastic Directors and productions into the borough.  Through the East End Film Festival, Tower Hamlets is able to support new and emerging filmmaking talent in the borough by providing an exhibition platform, developing high end training with a range of delivery Partners and by providing access to professionals through workshops and seminars. We’re also proud of the many successes around the festival circuit of shorts we have supported through the Tower Hamlets and Hackney Production Scheme.
