Keanu Reeves stars as a lost soul who has been circling the New York City drain for too long. Stealing a video camera and recording the sights and sounds of the city almost at random, turning the camera on both others and himself, he shares an unexpectedly intimate evening with two self destructive party girls he’s picked up along the way. Violet and Mia are alternately exhibitionist and introverted, but both become slowly more intrigued by the idea of being filmed, and John manages to illicit more and more outlandish confessions from them. So begins a long dark journey into the night, both for the characters themselves and their generation, in Mark Mann’s stylish, atmospheric debut.
