This invaluable course examines the issues around development in the current UK climate, from a Producers POV.

Topics on this intensive weekend course will include:

What sort of material is working for markets and sales companies today?
How are you pitching it - what do execs want to hear?
How is your project linked to the current marketplace eg theme, genre, casting and funding opportunities?
Who has funds for development? How do you apply?

You will also learn to decipher the jargon in development e.g. option fees / script editor / legal costs & what people really pay & how to develop a project if you have 'no official funding' ie investor monies?

You will learn how to work with a co-production 'partner' for development from public / equity funds and what they need in return?

Overall you will learn key stages on the road to developing a fundable project.
