...unfortunately, this was not very good.
I've read some Jon Ronson but unfortunately the film dealt with adaptation by adding a flimsy holding story, full of quite poor gags. Parts of the original stories of the soldiers experiements and training in peaceful and experiemental methods was engaging, but I was left wishing it had abeen a straight narrative within the original bizarre story that let the characters develop, more than presented as comic interludes in the real-time story between Clooney and Ewan MacGregor.
Lazy comedy, slow moving narrative, juvenile resolution. Could have been much better!
